One possible cause for Pro Tools taking an extremely long time to launch (on Windows) is if you happen to have a CD/DVD in your CD/DVD drive, and possibly if you have a mounted ISO.
Simply remove/unmount the disc, and Pro Tools should launch normally.

Thank you! Had the same problem but instead of a physical CD it was my external hard drive that created a CD Drive. Worked perfectly after I disconnected the hard drive.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this!! I was tearing my hair out and this sorted the issue straight away :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm still sitting here wondering why a Braveheart DVD in my drive caused a 20 min. load time and 5 min. wait between clicks on PT. But as soon as I pulled the DVD out everything starting working perfectly.
ReplyDeleteReally appreciate the info. It would have been a good long while before I figured that one out.
